Feed your spirit with the Word of God – Prayer for January 17. After God has deposited his seed in us, it is a must for us to make the seed grow and prevent it from dying. Let’s tell God to help us grow his seed in us.
Bible Verse for Today
“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” (1 Peter 2:2)
The seed of God which is in you is nature, life, and being of God in you; it is God’s Word alive in you. The Word calls God’s seed in you the ability of God, which is his life or nature (1 John 3:8-9).
Just as it is required that seed be watered for it to grow, every Christian must water the seed in him for it to grow. For that seed to reach its full potential, you have to feed and nurture it. What you have in you is a nature, a being, a life – it is an image of God in you, it is the character of God that has been placed in you.
These characters include power, might, courage, and other fruits of the spirit. To nurture these seeds in you, you must acknowledge the fact that you have them in you. It is a must to discover these seeds so that you will know how to build them.
Jesus Christ, our Lord was born with full potential, he has the seed of God in him but he still builds on it. He grew that nature by feeding it with the word of God daily and through constant prayer. The number one way we can build that seed in us is to water it with the word of God.
The word of God is always there to build us and make us grow. God wants you to exercise that nature of God in you to dominate. The word of God is the key to spiritual maturity. Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Thank you, Father, for the gracious deposit of the divine in me. I declare in Jesus’ Name that as I feed this life with God’s Word, it grows and increases exponentially; I grow in wisdom and in knowledge and wax strong in spirit. Therefore, I am a blessing to my world, because, through me, the light will shine to the world. Amen.
