Accept the Word of God – Prayer for Lent #day 16. We know the words of faith, we want to use it now and make changes to our lives. These words, there are ways by which they can be used and how they work. Let us see how these words work.
Bible Verse for Today
“But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim” (Romans 10:8)
Under the law, God dealt with His people based on the contract or agreement which was the Old Covenant. The righteousness of the Law speaks on the wise: the man does these things, the things said to be done under the Law, shall live by them. That is why they were meant to keep the whole Law to be justified or made righteous before God, which they couldn’t keep. However, under the New Covenant, there was a change in operation.
God gave a new way to live, a new way to be justified before God. He gave a new way to walk in the blessings of God. Romans 10:6 “ But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down).”
Clearly, stated, how does the word of faith work? You hear it through preaching, then you believe it and act on it. What more? God performs His word according to your faith. This is how it works: the word of faith must be preached; after which you must accept it in your heart. Right from your heart, it starts working in you and it comes out from your mouth into speaking it out.
At this point, you have confessed Jesus and Jesus dwells in you now, he is the one who will make the words spoken by faith come to pass. That is why the Bible says that “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2).
We should get this faith in us working by the power of Christ and never let it die.
Accept the Word of God Prayer for Today
Lord, help me to work according to your Word and faith. Every form of doubt in me, Lord, clear it away. Let my faith stand in you, let it be solid as the rock. You are the pillar of my salvation, I believe. Let faith work for me and pave way for me today. Amen.
