Asking God for protection – Prayer for Lent #day 27. One of the things we need right now is protection from God. We should take the things that are happening around the world now serious and make sure that we follow God. Let’s tell God to protect us.
Bible Verse for Today
“Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.” (Psalm 16:1)
We should make use of the Lent period to ask God for protection.
There is nothing we can do on our own to protect ourselves. We are limited to some things – we want God to help us. We cannot say because we are diligent enough there would be nothing that will happen to us. The Bible warned that those who think they stand should be careful so they don’t fall. Trusting God for protection is the best thing to do in these recent times.
We know God for one thing, no matter what he tells us, it will always happen. He doesn’t lie and He honors His word more than His name. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
He said he would not allow the plaques of the Egyptians to come to us – the plaques of the Egyptians included farming, destruction of property, death, diseases, and some other bad things. These are the kind of things happening in the world today, the things we need God to protect us from. There are things that we must do so that we can be protected.
One of these is obedience. Yes, obedience. To obey is the best thing that one can do to be safe from harm. When you are being told to do things that will protect you from harm and you obey, you are putting yourself in the position to be saved.
King Saul did not obey God, the greatest harm that disobedience brought to him is that he lost the throne – God rejected him. 1 Samuel 15:22 says, “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
God will surely answer that prayer and will protect you
Prayer is another thing we can do so that we can be protected. It is good to follow all the precautions to stay safe but one must pray. It is important to pray to God to be saved from harm. God will surely answer that prayer and will protect you.
Asking God for Protection Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, I want to thank you for all you have done in my life. I thank you for keeping safe and you have not allowed the worst to happen to me. I believe that you will never stop protecting me from evil and from the things that can harm me. Lord,help me to do the right thing so that I will not be exposed to danger. Amen.
