The Certainty of His Will – Daily Devotional for June 26

The Certainty of His Will Daily Devotional for June 26

In moments of deep struggle, we often find ourselves questioning not whether God is capable of helping, but whether He actually wants to. In today’s Daily Devotional for June 26, The Certainty of His Will, we look at how Jesus settles that doubt once and for all.

The Certainty of His Will – Daily Devotional for June 26

“Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’” (Matthew 8:3)

Beyond Passive Observation

The leper (Matthew 8:1-4) questioned not Jesus’ power but His will: “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus’ answer: “I am willing.”

This is the answer to one of the existential questions. God not only can help you, not only can He lead you into His Kingdom – He wants to.

We often apply human limitations to God. We think that God, like man, must “choose” what to love and what not to love, or that His love depends on merit. However, from this Gospel verse, we see that the leper’s doubt about God’s goodness is finally dispelled by Jesus’ answer.

God’s dream of your salvation is not just a passive observation from heaven, as many believe. It is an active, desiring, loving “I want.”

When you feel lost or unclean, remember that you are not just hoping for a miracle from a distant deity—you are being sought after by a God who desires to heal you.

Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for the assurance that You are not just capable of helping me but truly desire to. Forgive me for the times I have doubted Your willingness to walk into the messy, broken parts of my life. Help me to rest in the confidence that Your will for me is good and that You are actively working for my restoration. Today, I open my heart to Your touch, trusting that You want me to be whole. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To You

What is a burden or a “leprosy of the soul” you have been carrying, wondering if God cares to intervene; take a moment today to speak that burden aloud to Him, and consciously receive His answer: “I am willing.”
