We often think of “God’s will” as a rigid, singular blueprint that we must guess correctly or risk missing out. But what if it is much more personal than that? In today’s Daily Devotional for June 25, “The Unique Path to the Kingdom,” we reflect on how God’s dream for our lives is woven directly into our unique stories.
The Unique Path to the Kingdom – Daily Devotional for June 25
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)
A Universal Goal
God’s ultimate dream for every human being is universal: He longs for us to return to the house of the Heavenly Father.
This is the final answer to the existential longings of our hearts. When we realize that God’s greatest desire is simply to have us home, our fear of “getting it wrong” is replaced by the steady, quiet confidence of hope.
However, the way we walk toward that Kingdom is entirely our own. You carry a unique life story, a distinct collection of talents, specific crisis points or moments of triumph where you saw God’s hand at work. Because of this, the “will of God” you are carrying out today looks different from the will of God for your neighbor.
You do not need to imitate someone else’s journey. Your path involves using your specific gifts and navigating your particular challenges to bring the light of the Kingdom into your own corner of the world. Doing His will is not about conforming to a mold; it is about living authentically within the story He is writing with you.

Prayer for Today
Lord, thank You for the hope that Your dream for me is simply to be with You. Forgive me for the times I have worried that I was missing Your will because my life didn’t look like someone else’s. Help me to cherish the unique story You have given me. Give me the wisdom to see how my specific talents and even my struggles are part of the way You are calling me home. Help me to walk my own path with courage, knowing that You are guiding every step. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
To You
Consider one aspect of your life, a talent, a recent struggle, or a specific role, and ask yourself: “How is God using this unique part of my story to draw me, or someone else, closer to His Kingdom today?”
