Welcome to this Daily Devotional for June 4, The Geometry of Love. As we seek to live out our faith today, let us look at the invitation to love God with our entire being.
The Geometry of Love – Daily Devotional for June 4
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30)
More Than Just a Feeling
When Jesus was asked for the greatest commandment (Mark 12:28-34), He reached back to the heart of the Shema Israel.
He did not ask for a segment of our lives or a portion of our time; He asked for everything. Loving God “with all your mind” reminds us that faith is not a blind, irrational feeling; it is a conscious, intellectual decision to seek the Truth.
Furthermore, loving Him “with all your strength” means that our devotion is not just a thought; it is the engine behind our daily work and service. We are not called to “squeeze” God into a busy schedule.
We are called to live in such a way that He is the center of every action, turning our mundane tasks into acts of worship.
The Honesty of the Soul
The Hebrew word for “soul,” nephesh, speaks to our innermost self, the place where we are exactly as we are, without masks or pretenses. Loving God with our souls means coming before Him and saying, “Lord, here I am with all my mess, all my fears, and all my weaknesses. I do not want to hide anything.”
This is the beauty of the spiritual journey: we bring our “mess” to God not to stay in it, but to let His presence reshape us. As we draw closer to Him, the process of “going” toward God gradually transforms us into better versions of ourselves. We are moving toward an ideal, and that ideal is Him.

Prayer for Today
Lord, I bring You my whole self today. I love You with my mind, seeking Your truth; with my strength, offering You my work; and with my soul, hiding nothing from Your grace. Thank You for taking me as I am and for the patient work of transforming me into who You created me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
To You
Today, identify one “messy” area of your life that you have been trying to hide from God. In your morning prayer, stop trying to perform for Him. Simply present that area to Him, acknowledge your need for growth, and invite Him into the center of that specific struggle.
