Give praise to God in all things – Prayer for May 21. Nothing moves God more than seeing his children united in praise. When believers come together to praise God in all things, the power of God comes into their midst.

The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with the cloud. (2 Chronicles 5:13)
God delights in the praises of his people, and he reveals himself amid people who forget entirely about themselves and focus on God in true praise and worship.
What brings down the power of God into the midst of the believers is not the instruments of music used but the hearts of the people and the sincerity of their devotion. As the children of Israel dedicated the temple Solomon had built for the Lord, they employed all they had to show their worship to the Lord. Though different musical instruments were used, they remained in one accord and delivered quality praise to the Lord.

Paul and Silas adopted this method; they were in prison and were in unity as they sang. The prisoners were looking at them until God himself came down, and the foundation of the prison shook.
That night, they were delivered because of the praise they sang in unity. Today, people use different sophisticated musical instruments to praise God. People go for voice training to be able to sing correctly. But what is most important is that there must be unity, not only physical unity but also unity in spirit.
When we do this, God is moved and will come into our midst.

Heavenly Father, I thank you because you delight and live in the praise of your children. I pray that You give every believer the spirit of fellowship, help us to come together to praise Your holy name, and let there be unity in us. As we gather to give you praise, Lord, let your power move mightily and let people know that you are our God. Amen.
