God’s Voice Over Human Opinion – Daily Devotional for May 4

God's Voice Over Human Opinion daily Devotional for May 4

My brother, today, in our Daily Devotional for May 4, let’s explore why God’s voice over human opinion is crucial. Looking at today’s society, one gets the impression that people today are not seeking to discover the truth but to overcome another person’s opinion and to place their own worldview above others. And nobody cares whether that worldview reflects the truth or not.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

Stand Firm for God

You may have noticed that society regularly goes into fits of ideological hysteria. Every year, we have a new topic for which people in the streets, with microphones and posters, call on you to sacrifice your life for the idea they are promoting.

But after six months, these topics disappear, and new ones take their place. And those who believed and were influenced are left in a fool’s place.

Stand firm for God

In such difficult historical periods, it is essential to remember Jesus’ words to us Christians: “You are the salt of the world.” (Matthew 5:13)

Now is the best time to live out this calling from Jesus. Stand firm for God!

God’s Voice Over Human Opinion

God’s voice is available to you, not just through the Bible but also through the Holy Spirit living within you. He speaks directly to your heart, and that guidance is essential in leading you on the right path.

When you prioritize God’s voice over human opinion, you’re choosing to trust in His wisdom and guidance, even when it might contradict the advice or opinions of others.

The Temptation to Seek Approval

You might often find yourself seeking validation from others, perhaps asking for opinions after you’ve already prayed and felt the Lord’s guidance. Seeking counsel isn’t wrong, but it’s essential to prioritize God’s wisdom above all.

Human advice can sometimes lead you astray, particularly if it doesn’t align with what God has impressed upon your heart.

Learning to Honor God First

Honoring God’s voice over human opinion requires practice. It means not wavering in your faith because of someone else’s ideas, no matter how convincing they may seem.

You must develop unwavering trust in God’s ability to guide you. Trusting God means sometimes going against the grain and having the courage to obey His leading.

Reflect on times when you’ve trusted human opinion over God’s voice. What steps can you take to ensure that you’re prioritizing His guidance moving forward?

My brother, choosing to listen to God’s voice over human opinion can be challenging but immensely rewarding. Trust in His wisdom and lean on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and you will find the blessings of a life aligned with His will. Amen.
