Dear brothers and sisters, it is a pleasure to share these faith insights with you as we close out the month. Today, February 28, in our devotional “Hear His Voice,” we focus on the necessity of listening to God. Even one word from Him can change the trajectory of your life.

“To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit.” — Psalm 28:1 (NIV)

The Comfort of Communication

God speaks to us in many ways. While we have His written Word as our primary guide, He also speaks directly to our hearts. He is not a distant observer: He is a conversational Father who desires to guide His children. Learning to recognize that inner voice is a skill that grows over time through practice and patience.

Learning Without Fear

Many people hesitate to seek God’s voice because they fear making a mistake. You might worry about “getting it wrong” or confusing your own thoughts with His. It is likely that you will make some mistakes along the way, but that is part of the learning process.

God understands your heart. As long as you are sincere and want to learn, He will work with you. He will teach you to distinguish His tone from the noise of the world.

The Impact of One Word

You do not need a long speech to experience a change in your circumstances. Sometimes, a single word of peace or a quiet nudge in a certain direction is all it takes to shift your perspective.

Instead of rushing through your day, try to create moments of stillness to simply listen.

Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are a God who speaks. Lord, I do not want to live in the “pit” of silence. Please teach me how to recognize Your voice in my heart today. Give me the grace to learn from my mistakes and the wisdom to check everything against Your Word. I am listening, Lord. Speak to my heart and guide my steps. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To You

Set a timer for just two minutes today. Sit in total silence with no phone or distractions. Simply say, “Lord, Your servant is listening,” and see what thoughts or scriptures come to your mind during that quiet time.
