Hold on to each other – Prayer for Lent #day 37. There different kinds of people out there. Some will influence you negatively while some will influence you positively. You will have to choose the right people – people that will influence you positively and help you achieve in life.
Bible Verse for Today
“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” (Proverbs 13:20)
Like it is being said that “You’re the average of the five people you spend most of your time with.” In this life, there are so many things that affect our lives, the place we live and the people we spend our time with, they affect our lives. “The people you spend your life with daily influence your life greatly.”
Sustaining the treasure depends on the kind of people around you.
What we’ll finally become or do with the treasure depends on who we are following and this is the reason why the scriptures advised us in Hebrews 10:25 that, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Following the wrong people in this life will cost us our treasures. They have nothing better to offer but to find a means to pull us down. Samson suffered this, he followed the wrong woman, and his power was taken from him. If Samson had stayed with the right people, the people of God and never to go with the wrong people, he probably would stay alive for more years.
Someone said, “Going alone makes you go faster but going together makes you go farther.” As Christians, we need to move with the people of God. We must not be isolated. When there is wind and you are going alone, you can easily be blown away but when you are many and hold onto each other, you will stand firm.
That’s the same with Christians, this life is too complicated to walk alone. Fellowship with Christians, people with the same mind, same goal, and same direction.
Hold on to Each Other Prayer for Today
Today, Lord, I reject any relationship that is drawing my life backward, I renounce any ungodly friendship with anyone. I reject evil planned by the ungodly people who call themselves a friend. From today, Lord, help me to move with the right people. Help me to make the decision that will link me with people that fear you, Lord. And give me the strength to walk away from every ungodly relationship. Amen.
