Even Jesus Christ was tempted in different ways but overcame in all. This made him perfect without blemish.
It would be best if you weren’t ignorant of what to do when temptations come. You will continually fall when tempted if you don’t know what to do. What did Jesus do when tempted, or how did he respond to temptation? When we follow the words of Jesus and look into how he overcame Satan, we will see that we can also overcome any temptation.
Jesus overcame using the Word. Although God’s word can do many things, Jesus used this word and finally rebuked Satan.

Some things will come and never look like temptation. Jesus was able to discern temptation and fight it. We must have the spirit of discernment so we don’t fall into temptation. After determining, we must then use the word of God. The word of God is powerful. Satan knows the word, he used it when tempting Jesus, but Jesus knew more. After you have used the word of God, the next is to rebuke Satan, and he will surely flee from you. James 4:7 “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Know that Satan won’t come to you physically to tempt you. Instead, he will come as a thought or use situations around. Therefore, you must be careful and stand firm in the word of God.
How to Overcome Lust and Temptation Prayer for Today
Lord, if any temptation comes my way today, which I know will surely come, help me overcome it. You overcame temptation with word and power. Please give me the right word to speak and the power to overcome temptations. If there is any that is bigger than me, come to my aid and rescue me from it so I may praise your name. Amen.
