Living a holy life – Prayer for November 5. Praise the Lord, everybody!
In this era of “Gospel light” in the body of Christ, we have streamlined Church doctrine and God’s statutes to the point where some things are rarely taught, if at all.
Bible Verse for Today
I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12: 1-2)
One of the key words in this scripture is “holy,” holy, acceptable unto God. So often, we come to God in our “mess,” unrepentant, and we expect Him to bless us and our mess (our sin).
Look around you, then look at yourself, and ask yourself, “How many truly holy living people do I know?”
Devotional for every day: Daily Devotional
Uncompromising, Holy Spirit filled and living everything they know by faith people. The answer for most is very few, but according to everything we’ve read in the scriptures, this is what God expects from His people. 1 Peter 1:15-16 says, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy.”
The dictionary says living holy means living or undertaking with a high moral or spiritual purpose; saintly means a holy person; a holy way of life. Gifts mean nothing unless you use them in a holy way.
Over 500 scriptures mention the word “holy,” but the term “Christian” is only mentioned three times in the Bible.
Many claim to be Christians, but how many would dare to claim that they are holy men and women of God? Very few, yet it is obvious that this is required of us.
When you are trying to live holy, you will be talked about, called a legalist, a fanatic, a zealot, and a religious nut, mostly because people prefer to pull you down rather than climb up to you; ask Nehemiah. But, as men and women of God, we cannot be concerned about that; we must be steadfast and obedient, un-swayed by talk and name-calling.
Living a holy life is the only way to see God in the beauty of Holiness. God bless you all.

Father God, give us the grace we need to live holy. Help us, Lord, live a holy and consecrated life, and let us not be swayed by the world around us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
