Transformation as Testimony Daily Devotional for April 17

Today, in our Daily Devotional for April 17, Transformation as Testimony, we are looking at the most convincing evidence for the Resurrection: not an archaeological find or a complex logical argument, but a changed human life.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

The Evidence of “Something New”

We often look for big, flashy miracles to prove that God is active in the world. However, the most profound miracle is the quiet, steady transformation of a human heart. When you see someone who has met Jesus and begins to reflect His character, you are witnessing the Resurrection in real time.

It is one thing to read about a historical event that happened two thousand years ago. It is quite another to see a formerly bitter person offer forgiveness, or a chronically anxious person walk in peace.

Real Life Examples

You are called to be a “living exhibit” of how grace works. You don’t have to be perfect to be an example; you just have to be changing. In fact, a person who is honest about their struggles but continues to grow in love and humility is often more convincing than someone who pretends to have it all together.

The Power Within

This transformation isn’t something we manufacture by trying harder. It is the result of Jesus being “alive in us.” Just as a branch grows fruit because it is connected to the vine, we grow in likeness to Jesus because His life is flowing through us.

The Resurrection isn’t just a past event to celebrate; it is a current power to be experienced.

Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for the miracle of a changed life. I ask that You would continue the “something new” You are doing in me. Help me to reflect the character of Jesus in my daily interactions. Let my life be a living testimony that You are alive and that Your grace is real. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To You

Think about one area of your life where you have seen growth over the last year. Take a moment to thank God for that “something new.” Today, look for one opportunity to act in a way that reflects Jesus (perhaps through a small act of patience or an encouraging word) to show someone else that He is alive.
