In a world that demands an instant reaction to every headline and event, we often lose the gift of inner quiet. In today’s Daily Devotional for June 13, “The Wisdom of Keeping it in Your Heart,” we explore why silence is not emptiness but a space for growth.
The Wisdom of Keeping it in Your Heart – Daily Devotional for June 13
“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” (Luke 2:19)
The Power of Holy Patience
We live in an age that pressures us to have an opinion on everything. We feel we must analyze, judge, and broadcast our thoughts immediately. Yet, we often lose our peace because we try to grab hold of events and fix them before they have even had time to settle.
Mary teaches us a different way. She does not rush to draw conclusions. She does not throw away the things she does not understand or try to erase the question marks of her life. Instead, she keeps them in her heart.
This is not a passive act. It is a spiritual process of letting events lie down in God’s presence. When we hold our questions before Him, we admit that, while we may not understand why things happen, we trust that God is present in the midst of them.
Empty pots make the most noise, but wisdom is born in the silence of a heart that chooses to wait on the Lord.

Prayer for Today
Lord, forgive me for my rush to judge and my need to control everything. Help me to be like Mary, who held her questions in Your presence until You were ready to provide the answer. Give me the grace to let my life ripen in Your hands instead of trying to break it open to satisfy my own timing. May my heart be a place where I trust You above all else. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
To You
Is there a situation in your life right now that you are trying to force or figure out too quickly? Today, try to surrender your need for an immediate answer and simply hold that situation in prayer, trusting God to work in His own time.
