Jesus Is the Criterion – Daily Devotional for May 3

Jesus is the Criterion Daily devotional for 3 May

Jesus is the criterion. In today’s daily devotional Bible passage, Jesus gives us a clear criterion so we don’t lose our way.

Daily Devotional

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me! (John 14:6)

Jesus is the Criterion

This sentence is one of the most important things said by our Lord Jesus Christ. Every Christian should know this sentence by heart. It is necessary to understand these words, but also to grasp their profound spiritual meaning.

This means that Jesus is not only a pointer in the right direction but also a personal path. Not only does He impart wisdom and truth, but He is also a great teacher among others, and He is the truth itself.

Moreover, He is not a problem solver or a helper in pursuing life’s good. No, He is life itself personally.

Jesus Is the Way to the Father

There is no other way to God the Father! All who pass Jesus by are going astray because Jesus is the way! Whoever passes by, leaving Jesus behind, finds himself in the elementary lie of life sooner or later. He will inevitably misjudge himself and God because Jesus is the truth!

Therefore, it is also true that whoever still passes by Jesus passes by true life here and life in eternity.

The most important thing is Jesus. The disciples should focus on Him. He is the key to everything. Conversely, anything in my life that wants to push Jesus out of the center or replace Him is a deviation. Therefore, it should not define me.

Don’t Get Lost

And anyone who tries to convince you and me, no matter how nice the words, that Jesus alone is not enough, that He needs to be supplemented or even corrected, is a misguided person. Jesus has taken His place at the center of your life and mine because He is the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Prayer for Today

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Jesus our Savior and the gift of salvation through Him. Thank You for Your revelation that salvation is found in no other person but Jesus Christ.

I praise You for bringing me to this realization that Jesus is the way and the truth. There is no other way to You, Heavenly Father, but through Jesus. Amen.
