Break past – Prayer for February 16. Moving forward in life is easy for us as Christians as far as Christ is concerned. But when something is holding us back, it can seem difficult to progress, so we need to tell God to break us free from it. Break past with the help of prayer.
Bible Verse for Today
“Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.” (Acts 16:26)
Chains are used to hold something down to prevent it from moving forward or escaping the area. Chains are also used to connect one thing to another.
When you are finding it difficult to progress, you need to break the chains that hold you back. Paul and Silas were tied with chains to hold them down, but when they prayed and sang, God shook the prison, and the chains were broken. We must use the authority, as Christians, in the name of Jesus to break the chains.
Until you break the chain connecting you to your past failures or to your past, thereby making you feel guilty about it. Even after you have given your life to Christ – old things have passed away – you might find it difficult to progress.
Tell God to break every chain holding you back today. There is much power in the name of Jesus to break the chain.
Prayer for Today
Lord, I believe it pleases you that we move forward in life, and I desire to move forward too. If there is anything from my past holding me back or drawing me back, causing me to be stagnant, I break it away from me today.
I walk in the reality of my inheritance in Christ, strengthened and positioned by the Spirit for the upward and forward life. And I declare every chain holding me back broken in Jesus name.
I declare myself free from backwardness and stagnancy in life. I will soar high like an eagle today, and I shall see a positive result. Amen.
