Hearing God’s call – Prayer for December 18. Praise the Lord, everybody! How often do we hear the voice of the Lord asking us to do something for Him? And how often do we answer the call to duty? How often do we act like we do not even hear it?
Bible Verse for Today
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
Isaiah heard the call and answered it, as you can see in the above Scripture. If you read the chapter from the beginning, you will see that Isaiah heard the call after seeing the Lord “high and lifted up” upon entering the Temple that day. He saw the full glory of the Lord and, at that point, realized who God was in comparison to who he was.

All men, Christian or otherwise, try to bring God down to their level. It is hard to hear from and be obedient to a God if you feel you are on equal footing with him. Believers and non-believers are always trying to fit God into something their carnal minds can wrap their way around.
God is looking for a vessel He can use to carry out His will on earth. God is looking for volunteers, not robots. Blood-washed vessels are willing to carry the Gospel of Christ to the world. The fact that there are believers who cannot see the Lord “high and lifted up” explains why they don’t see the honor or the privilege that it is to serve God and be used by Him. Isaiah realized it after seeing the Lord in His fullness in the Temple.
As Christians, we must ask ourselves, have we seen the Lord “high and lifted up” in our Temples? And if not, why not? Always keep up a front in your mind what God has done for you in your life and what He has delivered you from while at the same time always remembering what He did for humanity.
If this is not enough for you to see God “high and lifted” in your life, then you need to lock yourself in your prayer closet and talk with God until you do. The Lord, our God, wants to use His people, and we must be ready to hear God’s call. Are you ready? God bless you all.
Hearing God’s Call Prayer for Today
Father God, forgive us, Lord, for not always seeing you “high and lifted up” in our lives. Lord, help us not to shrink away from your call and help us to get in the correct position to hear it. Father, for all you have done in our lives, help us not forget those things so that you will always remain Lord. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
