Being a good steward of God – Prayer for January 31. God has selected us to be in charge of some things. He has given us the power to care for things in his house and the church. Let’s be a good steward of God.
Bible Verse for Today
“Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Timothy 2:19)
God wants His presence to find full expression in and through us, but for that to happen, we must be good hosts of His presence. We have a role to play in God’s kingdom. He has placed us in a particular position to represent him well there.
Not that we are the ones to cleanse ourselves from every filthiness of the flesh and spirit and perfect holiness in the fear of God; it is of God to cleanse us. We are the ones to create a conducive environment for God to have full expression in and through us. Don’t be deceived into thinking that regardless of what you do and how you live, God will have full expression in your life. That kind of mind is against the truth of God’s Word.
There are things that you will refrain your hand from touching and your eyes from Watching. There is a place you must stop going to so you can be the carrier of God’s glory.

There are rewards laid up for those who will diligently seek the Lord. There are promises in the Word for Honoring God in our bodies. Our body is also the temple of God, we are the steward, we must protect it from things that can defile it.
We must remain a good steward, someone whom God can trust. These promises are God’s incentives to thrill us into separating ourselves from the filthiness of the flesh and the spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Being a Good Steward of God Prayer for Today
Lord, I thank you for choosing me to steward your temple. I pray that you make me to be a good steward for you. If anything will make me go against your will for my life or make my heart filthy, help the Lord do away with them. Teach me to guard my heart, your temple, from all filthiness. Amen.
