Become like little children – Prayer for February 6. We need to learn things from children and be humble and look deeply at what they do. They show unconditional love, and they are pure. The Bible advises that we behave sometimes like them.
Bible Verse for Today
“And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3)
One thing that Jesus was trying to bring out from this passage and this statement of becoming like children are that he wants us to be humble. Children possess many characteristics we can try to adopt as adults. For example, I witnessed a quarrel amongst sets of kids – about five years of age. Three days after they quarreled, they started playing together again.
The simple thing about children is that they forgive easily, except for some that have been affected by the toxic characters of the adults around them. Forgiving other people will make us forgiven by God. Matthew 6:14 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

Parenting is not an ordinary thing. It’s spiritual – it involves nurturing, protecting, providing, caring for, and training children. All these things are things that every child submits to and obediently accepts.
Only the children accept this; as maturity starts to come in, it becomes so uneasy about making them hear, but the lessons and the teachings guide them. In this exact manner, when we give our lives to Christ, we get to the point where we learn, are nurtured, and raised – this is our turn to submit to teachings and stay encouraged in Christ. These are the characters of children that we must put on.
Become Like Little Children Prayer for Today
Father Lord, I open myself to be taught and nurtured by you. I want to put on the character of a child and have the spirit of humility in me. Please show me the way that you want me to live. I pray that you help me overcome the spirit of pride that rejects teachings – help me take off the attitude. Lord, becoming like a child gives a pathway to your Kingdom, allow me to get there. Let today be a great day for me and help me stay on top of every situation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
