have an abundant life

Have an abundant life – Prayer for December 9. We are new creations in Christ. God wants us to seek more out of life. He wants us to have a life of abundance.

But in God’s thinking, it has nothing to do with acquiring worldly things that will one day disappear. Instead, it’s all about what’s eternal. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we now have a way to be reconciled with God and have eternal life with Him in heaven.

Bible Verse for Today

“and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:24)

You may have experienced painful things and situations in your past. Yet, God still wants you to rejoice in your life every day. But that is only possible if you capture the abundant life Jesus has made available to you through his death and resurrection. Otherwise, the devil will always try to take it away from you.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”(John 10:10). Jesus became man and died for you so that you can have an abundant life!

Through this life He gives you, you are a new creation. You do not have to allow what happened in the past to continue to influence your life as a Christian. Instead, you can renew your mindset as a new creature in Christ through biblical truths. Your feelings can also experience healing and recovery. God’s good plans will unfold as you live according to your new and unique nature, available through Jesus’ vicarious death on the Cross.

Have an Abundant Life Prayer for Today

God, we are thankful for your gift of salvation, for the promise of eternal life. Lord, we want to live each day consciously according to the new nature we have through Jesus. We are new people in Christ – happy and full of hope in You! Please, Lord, guide us, lead us, and grow us daily. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
