Believe in power of God – Prayer for September 5. Praise the Lord, for He alone is worthy to be praised! It’s time for the Church to examine itself, and since we are the Church, we Christians must begin to seriously look at our walks with God.
Bible Verse for Today
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (Revelations 3:14-16)
God is sickened by “lukewarm” Christians and even though Sardis and Philadelphia had their issues they were not casual about their faith as were the Laodiceans. They put their trust in their wealth and possessions and saw no need to trust Him.
A lot of Christian “elitists” are that way today, they tell other more devout Christians “that’s good that you’re committed, you need to hold on to your faith like that because of where God has brought you from.” They look down on those who God has delivered from drugs, alcoholism, prostitution, gambling, homosexuality, etc. To them, God is just plan B, something to fall back on when their own plans don’t work out.
Casual Christians are usually traditionalists, caught up in the traditions of the Church. The church is what they do, they come from a long line of Church goers. God doesn’t want Church Goers, who have a form of godliness but do not truly believe in the power of God.
Examine yourself, and if you find yourself getting “lukewarm” in your walk with Christ, think about what Jesus says to the Churches in Revelation 3:19, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”
We Christians must begin to seriously look at our walks with God
Jesus desires those that have strayed from their first love to be zealous and repent. It’s time out for casual indifference, and time for Holy Ghost zeal. God bless you all.
Believe in Power of God Prayer for Today
Father God, help us not to become lukewarm believers, weary in our well-doing. Father stir up the gifts that you put in us when we first got saved. We believe in the power of God, our Lord. Help us rekindle the fire we once had, so that we won’t be spewed out of your mouth. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
