Daily devotional and Prayer for February 12. A Prayer of Faith. Prayer is the grace that God has bestowed upon man to communicate and have fellowship with Him. Effectiveness in prayer will depend on our faith.
Bible Verse
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. ( Mark 11:24)
The scripture doesn’t tell us in specific what we should be praying for, instead, we are told that whatever things we ask God for, as long as we pray according to His will and have faith in God we will receive.
This scripture is enough to give someone rest in the Lord. There will be no room for anxiety or worries.
The scripture says in the book of Psalms that the Lord God is a sun and shield, He gives grace and glory and no good thing will He withhold for those who walk uprightly. (Psalms 84: 11)
Therefore it is the desire of God to give us everything we ask of Him.
That is why when Jesus Christ was teaching His disciples He told them like this:
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” ( Luke 11:9-10).
Now to the side of God, the scriptures are so clear that God is willing to answer our prayers and give us what we need and for that, we don’t have any doubt about it.
But now for us to please God in our prayers we are required to pray in faith. For without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. ( Hebrews 11:6).
A Prayer of Faith
O Lord God, we thank you for the grace you have allowed us to approach and speak to you through prayer. We thank you because you have promised in your word that what we pray you are ready to listen to us and answer our prayers.
Lord help us to have faith in you in everything that we ask of you in prayer, this is because you have promised us that you will give us everything we ask for if we do it in faith.
We praise you and worship you for it is in Jesus name we pray believing, Amen.
