Say No to Compromise, stand strong – Prayer for January 8. Sweet things entice us, but we must still stand firm. It might not be easy, but we should ask for it to strengthen us and never compromise.
Bible Verse for Today
“My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them ” (Proverbs 1:10).
Besides loving righteousness and hating evil, the righteous are identified by their zero tolerance for compromise. While some Christians use the situation as an excuse to compromise their faith during hard times, the righteous see such times as opportunities to stand up for Jesus.
Not compromising makes us even stronger. Job 17:9 says, “Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways, and those with clean hands will grow stronger.”
A man was asked to sign some documents at his place of work; he found out that the papers were illegal, though they offered a huge reward. He refused to sign; he was threatened with his job, but he stood by his decision. Also, he was sacked for refusing. He left the work to another; it was then that he heard that the person who signed it had been arrested. There is a blessing in holding onto the faith.
The three Hebrews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, did not compromise; they refused to bow to an idol, even when they lost their lives. Ask God to help you not to compromise and to stand firm in the faith.

Prayer for Today
Dear Father, I thank you for today. To wake me up today, you didn’t compromise. So also, I don’t want to compromise today; I want to stand strong in the faith, and I want to stand with you, Lord. Please help me to be strong in you. Whenever temptation comes my way today, please help me to stand strong in you. If I have for once compromised, Lord have mercy on me.
I have the power to overcome compromise today. If others are doing bad things to become rich, help me not to join them, Lord. Even if it’s hard, encourage me, Lord, like the 3 Hebrews.
