Jesus is the key to eternal life – Prayer for January 2. After all on earth, after what Jesus has done for us, after his death and resurrection, if we stay in Christ and do according to what he has commanded, we can boldly say we belong to Jesus till eternity.
Bible Verse for Today
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus did not just come to die for us and then leave us to try our best or struggle. He came to buy us into the eternal life that he has gained for himself. When Jesus died, he went to the pit of hell and conquer hell and death. He has the key in his hand and he has the power over hell and death. This kind of person with this power must surely be able to live forever.
Since Jesus has eternity, he then call us to come into this eternity. Isaiah 45:22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.” It is a call to be saved from the real death that Jesus himself has overcome. It is an opportunity for us to grab and never let go. What will you do to gain eternal life with Jesus?
Eternal life with Jesus is not a life sorrow, it is not a life of fear, it is not a life facing battles or temptation – it is a life of peace. Jesus will live forevermore and he can never change. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
This is the time to initiate the plan to do whatever it takes to get into eternity with Jesus and reign with him. We must not sit back, relax and be okay with the things of this wicked world but we must hope in the Lord and expect the eternity to come and then be with Jesus till eternity.
Jesus is the Key to Eternal Life Prayer for Today
Father Lord, I know you have conquered hell and death – you have the power over them now and you have open the way to eternal joy with you. Lord, I desire to live with you forever, I want to be where you are – I pray that you help me to achieve this and give me the grace to serve you to the end. I know that you Jesus is the key to eternal life. Amen.
