Keep the commandments of God

Keep the commandments of God – Prayer for February 20. There are things that we do that devalue us, and what we do will add value to our lives. So let’s tell God to teach us to do the things that will give us value.

Bible Verse for Today

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11)

Doing what God told us to do will give us value. Most of the time, the commandments we were given are not because of God but because of us. It is to put us in check and to help us grow.

When the Bible talks about the carnal mind, it doesn’t mean only a sinful mind, though we know it leads to sin. To be sensual means to be devoid of powers; there is nothing extraordinary about the carnal mind. Just using human understanding and everyday life – this kind of life has no value because there is nothing special about it; it is prone to mistakes that can never be recovered.

Without power in one’s life, it will be hard to impact work. The only way by which one can stop being carnal is if the Word is added. The Word adds value to life, taking away the flesh that can cause destruction and add life. The man without value will have no ground to stand. The things he will do will be according to his senses.

The Kingdom of God is not for people like this. Living this way, the way that adds no value to us makes us enemies of God. Romans 8:6 “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”

The reason why it is the word that can give you value is that if you do read the Word and you do according to it, whatever you do will turn out to be a success.

Keep the Commandments of God Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to add value to my life through your word. I promise to keep your commandments, God. In everything I do, Lord, help me to set my affections to know Jesus alone. I say to myself, Jesus’ name, I am not ordinary; I am extraordinary, I have value, and I will fly high as the eagle. Amen.
