Live in truth and love – Prayer for July 25. Praise the Lord, everybody! The truth’s importance is discussed in many places in the Bible. The importance of love and truth is also mentioned in many places. Our job as Christians is to turn these words into a natural manifesto.

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)
I remember way back when I was in rehab. Way before I knew the Lord, I made pocket money writing Love letters and poems for guys to give their girlfriends.
I had a nice little cottage industry going and money in my pocket. I had a bunch of satisfied customers who had happy girlfriends, thanks to me. All this happiness and feelings of love were based on lies, words I wrote off the top of my head, not knowing who they would be. God knows talk is cheap and that words alone have little value when it comes to love.
We must show our love for God and one another by what we do for each other.

Jesus once said, “If you love me, keep my commandments” in John 14:15. Besides keeping God’s commands, we need to show more love to each other just as He said in John 13:35, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another.”
We need to, as brothers and sisters, stop all the gossiping and backbiting that has become almost a part of our Church tradition recently. It has split churches and driven new and old members away from attending services. Let’s let the love of Christ back into the Church.
True, agape love is just what it says it is, TRUE love. Next time you want to show someone that you love them. That’s it! Just SHOW them you love then. God bless you all.
Live in Truth and Love Prayer for Today
Father God, help us show Christ’s love, not only to a dying world but to our Church families also. Keep us from gossip and backbiting, and let all our conversations uplift, heal, and enlighten. Let us live in truth and love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
