POWER OF GOD’S LOVE Prayer for November 24

Power of God's love

Power of God’s love. Prayer for November 24. Love can be defined as a deep feeling or affection towards something or someone. True love causes no deliberate hurt or pain to others. Everything we do should flow from loving one another.

The Greek word for love is ‘agape,’ which describes a love that is selfless, unconditional, and sacrificial. This is the power of God’s love that Jesus Christ demonstrated when He willingly gave up His life for us to have everlasting life.

Bible Verse for Today

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

As Jesus Christ shows unconditional love to us, we, too, must demonstrate sacrificial love to others. Of course, it is far too easy to love those who love us or those who treat us kindly. But sacrificial love means that we demonstrate love to those who despise and hate us, just as Jesus showed love and forgiveness to those who persecuted Him.

True love means that we seek to forgive even our enemies. So Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34). We too must say, Father, forgive our enemies when they offend us.

Therefore, “love is patient and kind; it does not envy or is puffed up. Love does not provoke or think evil; it does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth; love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). God wants us to demonstrate agape love because this kind of love is slow to punish or repay those who hurt us but instead bears with hurts and offenses.

We must show love because anyone who does not love does not know God. After all, God is indeed love (1 John 4:8). Love must be more than just spoken words; we must demonstrate love in action, first to God, families, and those to whom we serve.

We must react to one another with goodness and gentle rebuke if and when discipline is required. The truth is true love never ends (1 Corinthians 13:8).

Power of God’s Love Prayer for Today

God, we thank You for Your love, in which You offered Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. We acknowledge the example you gave us of agape love, selfless, pure, and unconditional love. We believe in the power of God’s love. Lord, just as You are love, help us demonstrate unconditional, pure, and selfless love to those we meet in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
