Finding True Fulfillment – Daily Devotional for February 24
“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” — 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV)
The Limit of Your “Yes”
The secret to a satisfied life is simple: obey God and do what He has called you to do. This sounds easy in theory, but it often requires us to make hard choices about how we spend our time.
We frequently grow weary because we try to carry more than God ever intended for us to hold.
Realize that you cannot do everything. When you try to be everywhere at once, you end up living at a frantic pace that leaves you stressed and weak.
Take a serious look at your commitments. As you feel led, begin to cut out activities that drain you without purpose. This will help you become more effective at the specific tasks God has actually placed in your hands.
The Rule of Peace
Peace is the indicator of God’s will. It is a vital source of strength for your daily life. Without it, you will likely feel frustrated. As you evaluate how you spend your time, use this simple rule: if you have peace about a commitment, keep doing it. If you do not have peace, it is time to stop.
Pay attention to your own reactions. If you find yourself complaining or feeling resentful about a certain task, it is often a sign that an adjustment is needed. God does not want you to spend your days feeling bitter or hating your life. His desire is for you to enjoy being in His will and to feel satisfied as you fulfill His purpose.

Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You have a specific purpose for my life. Lord, help me to see where I have overcommitted myself. Give me the courage to say no to things that steal my peace. I want to live at Your pace, not the world’s pace. Guide my decisions today so that I can serve You with a joyful heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
To You
Take a look at your calendar for the coming week. Is there one activity that makes you feel frustrated or resentful just thinking about it? Ask God for the wisdom to either change your attitude toward it or to step away from it entirely.
