Align with God’s will Prayer for Lent #day 3. We human beings, irrespective of who we are, have expectations, there are things we are hoping for. In this period of Lent, let us pray that our expectations shall not be cut short.

Bible Verses for Today

“For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18)

One thing we should ask ourselves in this period of Lent is that what are the things we should be expecting from God? What are the things we should be praying for?

Many people all over the world are hoping for one thing or the other but the difference between us and the rest of the people is that our expectations can never be cut off.

We can’t for the sake of this (that our expectations will not be cut off) and expect things that are not in line with the things of God. The reason why our prayers or our expectations are not being fulfilled is that we are praying or expecting something wrong, something that is totally against the will of God. James 4:3 says, “You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”

We need to align our lives with God’s plan for us. That is the best way to start this Lent and end it glorious. Are you ready to be purified by God? Are you ready to be made great in God more than you’ve ever been?

This is the time to raise your expectations high above the superficial things. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

We are the children of the Highest; our expectations should not be something that will be superficial. Many things can happen during this period, miracles will happen, temptations will come. Different things will surface but if your expectations dwell on the Lord and you focus on Him alone for a great experience, then nothing will be able to stop you.

If the Bible says the expectations of the righteous will not be cut off, then surely, there are some people that theirs would be cut off – they are the wicked people, people that refuse to acknowledge God. for us to be on a safer side, we must be like them.

Align with God’s Will Prayer for Today

Dear Lord, I thank you for all you have done. I thank you for another period of Lent. Lord, I have great expectations and I know that only you can let these things come to pass. I pray that my expectations will never be cut off but they will be made fulfilled. If they are against your plans for my life, Lord, please readjust them for me. Amen.
