ASH WEDNESDAY Prayer for Lent Repentance and Conversion

Lent prayer Ash Wednesday

Lent prayer for today, Ash Wednesday. This year, 2024, Ash Wednesday falls on February 14. It is a beautiful day of penance left by our forefathers. (More information here)

Repentance means conversion. For example, we may often think we are not sinners at all or at least not bad people. However, we believe that others do terrible things.

But the reality is different. Every minor theft, maliciousness, hurtful word, lie, thought of adultery, and envious thought makes us sinners.

So bad? Yes. We must never forget who we are dealing with – the holy God. He is perfect. And he can’t stand the slightest break in his presence.

Do we have a chance?

Yes.

Bible Verse for Ash Wednesday

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

We have to call Jesus into our hearts and our lives. First, he is our Lord and our friend. And more importantly, He is our Savior. He helps us. He gives us strength. We can (and must) ask Him for guidance.

We should ask for strength and guidance on kneeling before Jesus with sincere regret and desire to become a new person. And with God’s help, we will cross every valley, overcome every addiction, and leave every brokenness behind.

Jesus said He is the way, He is the truth. Therefore, through Him, and only through Him, we can come to God. In other words, with every prayer, go together with Jesus daily and reach the Father’s Kingdom.

Ash Wednesday Prayer

Lord, I want to get to know you better and better. And learn to please you with my life. Purify me from my sins. Block all evil that comes out of me. Father, please come into the sanctuary of my heart! Please give me complete surrender to you! I am ready for you. Transform my soul and me according to your will. God, I want to be transformed by you and receive from you.

I want to live in your truth, love what you love, and hate what you hate. Almighty God, I want your word in my heart so everything becomes manifest. Please help me understand your word; let me see all the truth. I want to walk the path of righteousness! I want to commit to your undivided life and run straight, stable, and reliable! I want to live not in fear of the Lord and cooperate so that my holiness in the Lord may be accomplished! And I want to learn to live by faith and as an overcomer! I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
