Lent prayer for today, Ash Wednesday. Repentance means conversion. For example, we may often think we are not sinners at all or at least not bad people. We think that there are others who do really bad things.
But the reality is different. Every little theft, every little maliciousness, every hurtful word, every lie, every thought of adultery, every envious thought make us sinners.
So bad? Yes. We must never forget who we are dealing with. With the holy God. He is perfect. And he can’t stand the slightest break in his presence.
Do we have a chance?
Bible Verse for Ash Wednesday
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
We have to call Jesus into our hearts and into our lives. He is our Lord and our friend. And more important- He is our Savior. He helps us. He gives us strength. We can (and must) ask Him for guidance.
On kneeling before Jesus with sincere regret and a sincere desire to become the new person we should ask for strength and guidance. And with God’s help, we will cross every valley, overcome every addiction, leave every brokenness behind.
Jesus said He is the way, He is the truth. Through Him, and only through Him, we can come to God. In other words, every day, with every prayer go together with Jesus and you reach the Father’s Kingdom.

Ash Wednesday Prayer
Lord, I want to get to know you better and better. And learn to please you with my life. Purify me from my sins. Block all sin that comes out of me. Father, please come into the sanctuary of my heart!
Please give me complete surrender to you! I am completely ready for you, do what you want with me and with my heart! God, I want to be transformed by you and receive from you.
I want to live in your truth and love what you love and hate what you hate. Almighty God, I want to let your word into my heart so that everything becomes apparent. Help me understand your word, let me see all truth in it.
I want to walk the path of righteousness! Lord, I want to commit myself to an undivided life with you and run straight, stable and reliable! I want to live not in the fear of the Lord and cooperate in such a way that my holiness in the Lord may be accomplished! And I want to learn to live by faith, and to live as an overcome! I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
