DIVINE MERCY PRAYER Lord, hear my prayer for sins, forgive me

Prayer for sins

Sometimes we have dark periods in our life when we feel lost. We feel we are sinners and can’t dream of asking God for His mercy. But our God is merciful and loving, and one of the biggest sins is to hesitate and deny His mercy. So prayer for sins, divine mercy prayer is the way to turn to God.

Prayer points for mercy and forgiveness:

  • Pray to God for the forgiveness of sins.
  • Pray for forgiving others.
  • Pray for forgiveness for yourself.

Divine Mercy Prayer

We can’t hesitate in Divine mercy even when we have committed a mortal sin. God’s mercy is boundless. So we need to say divine mercy prayer with deep faith in our hearts and ask, “Lord, have forgiveness and mercy on me!” And we will receive His mercy, forgiveness, and peace in our hearts.

prayer for forgiveness

1. Asking God for the forgiveness of my sins myself.

O My Lord, full of love, I have done many things in my life that are evil in your sight. I accept that I have committed many sins. Yet, I forgot you, set my heart on my own will, and kept sinning.

My sins remind me that I have disobeyed you. I am ashamed of these sins. I pray to you. Treat me not according to my deeds but according to your love.

Wash away my sins with your love and cleanse me. Approve my divine mercy prayer. You are my living hope and my refuge. Lord, forgive this to an unworthy servant. I ask that in the name of Jesus. Amen.

2. Asking God to be merciful to family members.

O, my Lord, you are merciful and refrain from being angry, rich in compassion and truth. You are our Lord.

I present to you all the members of my family, and I implore you to remember them. These are the people you made by your image. You know every single part of their lives. Nothing is hidden from you.

The lives of all of them are in your hands, and without your mercy, they are nothing. Look at their life circumstances, your guidance and protection, and let your mercy be with them. Please accept my divine mercy prayer for my family. Please bless them all, Lord Jesus. Amen.

God’s mercy

3. Asking for God’s mercy and forgiveness of sins for your loved ones and friends.

O Merciful God, you know that human beings are weak. They make mistakes and sin, sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly.

But I know that you prefer mercy over punishment. That’s why you have opened the door for forgiveness for all.

I present my loved ones and friends to you. I apologize for everything you dislike in their lives,  things that hurt you. Your forgiveness and mercy will give them a chance to improve their lives. Please listen to my divine mercy prayer for my friends and loved ones. Forgive them. Show your divine mercy in their lives. I entrust them to your care in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

4. Pray for God’s mercy to the Church and all Christians worldwide for the mistakes made.

Heavenly Father, we are your church, all called by your name, Christians who live anywhere in the world. I pray to you for all of them.

You know that we are human beings. We make mistakes and seek forgiveness and mercy from you. You are their heavenly Father. Forgive your children and show them your mercy in their lives. Your divine mercy and grace are enough for them. Your kindness has been with your people before.

We believe that you will continue to do the same for your people. Therefore, may my divine mercy prayer be pleasing to you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

5. Prayer for sinners of the whole world, asking them for God’s mercy.

O Merciful God, all those who live in this world are in your sight. Man commits more sins than good deeds. But we know that you do not want any sinner to die. On the contrary, you love them and want them to turn away from sin.

Your divine mercy is for every human being. Therefore, forgiveness for sinners is possible in your mercy.

I pray you to forgive them so they will be free from punishments beyond man’s tolerance. Lord, let them experience your divine mercy. May my divine mercy prayer be like incense to you. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

6. Prayer for sins. Lord, forgive me.

God of all mercy, I pray to you today for mercy over my life, family, ministry, and career.

I will walk with you. Let your mercy surround me.

Do not leave me to myself, Lord; let your mercy free me from every tight situation.

Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner, and forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer for sins is essential. Bible says in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through him”. So we don’t need to hesitate about God’s intentions regarding us.

Turn to God and he will respond

He gave us the most significant gift – His Son to save us from death and eternal life. We need to recognize that we are only weak people who can’t stay on the right way without the help and support of God. We never deserve God’s mercy as our nature is sinful, but we must never stop believing and praying for divine mercy prayer.

Why We Need to Pray, “Lord, have Forgiveness and Mercy on Me”

Divine mercy prayer, prayer for sins, is a prayer that every believer should pray since we are not perfect beings and need God’s support and mercy in any situation.

“Oh, satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90: 14).

God’s mercy is crucial to our salvation as Ephesians 2:4-6 say, “But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love, wherewith he loved us….”. So divine mercy and forgiveness are an essential part of our walk with God; we can’t rely only on ourselves and our efforts.

divine mercy prayer

Believing in God’s mercy and asking for it is the only way to reach eternal life. We must live according to God’s will. Jude 1:21 says, “Keep yourself in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ into eternal life.” You’d love to pray daily for mercy as a believer.

Circumstances where we need the divine mercy prayer

There are several circumstances where we need divine mercy prayer.

One such occasion is when we sin against God. Bible says if we cover our sins, we shall not prosper. By confessing our sins and saying a prayer for mercy, forgiveness comes. As much as sin is not a lifestyle for the believer, the Bible says “if” we sin, there is a place for mercy (not because we deserve forgiveness, but because He is all merciful and that we may fear Him). Psalm 130:4 says, “But with you, there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.”

David, in Psalms 51:1, prayed (after sinning adultery and murder), “Have mercy upon me, o God according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.”

Also, we say the divine mercy prayer during challenging times. We cry for mercy when our good works cannot save us. “The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses” (Psalms 25:17).

David prayed for God’s mercy several times when he was afflicted and troubled by king Saul, and the above psalm was one of such times, and in all of these challenging times, the Lord God showed him mercy and bailed him out.

A daily prayer for mercy and forgiveness

Don’t forget what the daily prayer for sins points are: Prayer to God for the forgiveness of sins, Prayer for forgiving others, and Prayer to forgive for yourself.

Noteworthy is the fact that the prayer of divine mercy is a prayer for the “weak” and not the “strong.” We know that outside of God, we are just nothing; there are no strong people, and His strength is perfect in our weakness. For folks who are not ‘all-powerful’ (nobody is all-powerful but God), we have always learned how to draw strength from God. “Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are vexed” (Psalms 6:2).

So ask God for mercy daily, knowing well that each day you live is just a gift by His mercy. Lamentations 3:22 says,” It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.” There are no achievers in the kingdom, and we are all receivers.

A cry for mercy God will not deny.
