We are asking the Holy Spirit for help – Prayer for December 3. Sometimes we feel lost and need help to manage difficult situations. The Holy Spirit is our helper. We need the Holy Spirit’s help more than we know.
Bible Verse for Today
“And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:22)
God wants forgiveness to characterize our lives. Therefore, we must choose to obey God and forgive everything – from the smallest trifle to the deepest wound. Of course, this is often easier said than done because the devil always tries to poison our thoughts with bitterness. But God does not ask us to do it alone.
Without the power of the Holy Spirit, you can not forgive; it’s too hard on your own. But if you really want it and humbly ask God for help, He will send you the Holy Spirit. This will empower you and help you to forgive.
In John 20:22, Jesus said to his disciples, “Receive the Holy Spirit!” His next order was to forgive others. He says the same thing to you. He wants to fill you with the Holy Spirit and make you able to forgive, but you must ask and receive him.
When you are ready, God can give you the power to banish all bitterness and unforgiveness from your heart. Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit so that you can forgive those who hurt you.
Asking the Holy Spirit for Help Prayer for Today
God, please fill us with your Holy Spirit. We want to receive his power. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for dwelling in our hearts and working in our lives. Please guide us into salvation, and help us to be more obedient. Let us always walk in the Spirit of God. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
