Do good to others – Prayer for February 18. Jesus told us in the Bible to go into the world and preach the Gospel. But that is not the only thing that we should do. The world needs us; if we do good to one person, it will spread.
Bible Verse for Today
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil because God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)
Jesus set an example of what we should be doing in this world. He was going about doing good, not just preaching the Gospel but also feeding people, as in the case of the five thousand men he fed. This is to show love to the world. He came to show what God is like, and God loves us.
Now, for the love and the message of freedom to go about so that people can be set free and experience the goodness of God, Jesus had to teach a set of people how to do good and how to preach the gospel. He had done this. Jesus told them to go into the world and do the same.
The reason Jesus did this is that He knew that if one person helped another, the person who was helped would be moved to do the same for another.
The same thing goes for us in this recent time. There is so much evil in the world. Often, people breed hatred in their hearts, but one good deed can turn a heart good. We need to set examples for other people in this world. In our workplace, in schools, in society, and in the family.
We should stand for the right thing and make sure that people feel the impact of our good works. We should also preach the Gospel to the people. It is the message of salvation, the message of freedom that people need to hear and pass on to the rest of the world. One more thing we must remember is that, sometimes, if people want to take the path of Christianity, our actions will decide.
Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, I want to thank you for teaching me what is right. It is great to know that I have to do the right thing and pass it on to the next person so that good things and good hearts will prevail in this world. Help me, Lord, to continue doing good and preach the words of freedom. In my workplace, school, family, and society, let me be an agent of change. Amen.
