Finding time for God – Prayer for Lent #day 9. There are times that we should set apart to face the things of God. We must also set apart ourselves for the works of God and make sure that we are doing the things that He wanted.
Bible Verse for Today
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
There are times that we should set apart for God. It is not every time that we should be claiming that we are busy. We shouldn’t be too busy to do the things of God. There is always a reward for everything we do for God. And there is a payday and that day is nearer than every other day. If Jesus comes and wants to reward people, what will do you do if you have not set yourself apart for the work of God.
Paul was a man who persecuted the Christians – he derives joy in this act. One day he was on his way to Damascus when Jesus appeared to him and he was converted. When Jesus told Ananias about Paul, he said in Acts 9:15 “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.”
The truth about this is that if God sets you apart for himself to be used then you must also set apart the time that you will work for God. Truly, you have things you want to do, you have works you want to take care of but these shouldn’t stop you from leaving out a time when you will talk to God and remain in Him. It should be a daily thing and not just the time of Lent.
Some people only get closer to God, they set time for God because of Lent – this should not be our lifestyle. God has a lot of things to say about our lives. He has the solutions to the problems or challenges we are facing. If we can stay with Him, our eyes will be opened to Him.
Let us create a unique time for God every day. It should not be something we do occasionally or when it is time for Lent.
Finding Time for God Prayer for Today
Lord, you are the God of time. You are great and powerful; you have never forsaken me before. If I have not set time to do your work or time to speak with you, Lord, I am sorry. I pray that you help me to make things right with you. Create in me a heart that will always seek your face. Amen.
