LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME, GOD Lent #day 8

lay your hands on me God

Lay your hands on me, God – Prayer for Lent #day 8. Blessing means God laying hands on everything we do. If we are blessed, it means God’s hand is on us and it will make us flourish. The blessing of God can come in different ways and can affect different parts of our lives.

Bible Verse for Today

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

One of the reasons why it is important to receive a blessing from the Lord is that it takes blessing for the potential of a man to be realized. It also takes the blessing of the Lord for the fasting of one to be productive and be acceptable. In Genesis 1:26-28, the scriptures tell us that God blessed man, in the beginning, to be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth. Before God became angry with the man that He sent him out of the Garden of Eden, He created him in the image and after His likeness.

This shows that it is the blessing of the Lord that can make anything man does productive. In whatever we do, it doesn’t matter the energy we put into it or how much we have tried, the important thing is that we must ask for the blessing of the Lord. From the Bible text, when the Lord blessed one, the face of the Lord keeps shinning on the person. When all these happen, there will be peace in the life of the person.

It is important that what we pray for in this period should be the blessing of the Lord. The blessing helps to see the result. We can’t at the end of this, lament that we have gained nothing which is why we should know how to talk to God for His blessing.

When there was a famine in the land, God told Isaac not to go to Egypt for food – He [God] promised to bless Isaac. Isaac obeyed God and sow in that land and the same year, reaped a hundredfold. If Isaac had not obeyed God or seek the blessing of the Lord, he would have followed the multitude and he would have missed out from the blessings of the Lord. (Genesis 26).

Let us not be wise in our own eyes, let us tell God to bless us and make us fruitful.

Lay Your Hands on Me, God Prayer for Today

Lord, I believe that you can bless me and you make me fruitful. I want your face to shine on me and make peace come to me during this period. I don’t want to depend on my power but your blessing alone. Lay your hands on the things I do and let me be fruitful. Amen.
