Pray with all your heart – Prayer for July 31. When you praying, talking with Almighty Father you need to simplify your prayers and pray with all your heart. God wants your sincere and simple words, which come from the bottom of your hearts. He doesn’t want you to show how clever and sophisticated you are. God wants to see your true heart.
Bible Verse for Today
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)
Simple prayers that come from the heart and are full of faith always attract God’s attention. Unfortunately, we often forget that and turn our prayers into a big deal, even though it’s a conversation with God. We must beware of trying to impress ourselves with our prayers. Sometimes we just want to sound good. Our desire is then to impress God with our language and to appear especially holy.
But God just wants to talk to us.
He wants us to talk to him like a friend – and not in a very special tone. If we do not speak formal English during the day, then we do not need to do it in prayer either. We also do not have to pray for hours. It is good to schedule prayer times, but we should only pray until we are done. Then we can turn back to our work until we feel the need to pray again.
Prayer will then be satisfying if you use it as a way to worship, thank, ask for help, and involve God in all your activities. He does not want to be impressed but to live with you. Do not make a show of prayer, just let it be with you.
Pray with all your Heart Prayer for Today
Lord, do not let me make a show out of prayer! I do not want to pray in a certain way and for as long as possible to impress you. I want to have you with me as my best friend, in every area and every minute of my life. Only being near you I can feel safe and loved. Only feeling your closeness I can share my love with others. Amen.
