God is forgiving and merciful – Prayer for April 6. God is a forgiving and merciful God; He knows that we are bound to make mistakes, and we are imperfect. So whenever we make mistakes, and we ask him for the forgiveness of sin, he hears and forgives us.
Bible Verse for Today
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Forgiveness is not just about how God forgives us; it is also about how we forgive each other.
God cannot go back on his word; he says, “If we confess our sin, he is faithful, and he will forgive our sins.” The real deal is, do you forgive others? It’s hard to forgive because of our human nature, but we’re still required to forgive. Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
God has promised to forgive, but for him to forgive us, we must confess our sins and humbly ask for forgiveness. This is the real type of heart that God wants, and he will forgive.
Don’t allow guilt in you, because if you do, it will always keep you weighed down, but instead ask God to forgive you and be free from guilt. Christ didn’t die in vain; he died so we might have access to God. For this reason, nothing should be holding us back from asking for forgiveness.
While asking God for forgiveness, don’t forget to forgive others, too.
Don’t be the servant in Matthew 18:27 who was forgiven but didn’t forgive his own servant.
Prayer for Today
Lord, I thank you for sending your son to die for my sake so I will not perish. I appreciate your love for me.
Father Lord, I know I have made mistakes, I have done bad things that won’t glorify your name. I confess them before you today, Lord, have mercy and forgiveness on me.
You said you will have mercy on whom you will have mercy. I request mercy today, dear Lord. Purify me from all unrighteousness and make me walk on the right path. I always know that God is forgiving and merciful. Amen.
