God never fails us, we fail Him – Prayer for August 29. Praise the Lord, from whom all blessings flow! At times the world can be a very lonely place, even for believers and strong men of God like David.
Bible Verse for Today
I looked on my right hand and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. (Psalm 142:4)
As men and women of God, many times we find ourselves going through dry seasons and places. Times where we seem to be surrounded by dead, dry souls.
It can be at home, at work, or even at Church. We can’t find refuge at home because no one believes as you do, you feel like a stranger amongst your own family. At work, it’s even worst.
The spirit of the Antichrist is everywhere, and you are not allowed to express your faith at any time. Then you come to the Church seeking solace after a long week, and all you find is gossip, envy, and strife. Fellow believers are too wrapped up in their own little worlds and cliques to notice your need.
Thanks be to God that David also said “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121) God tells us in His word “I’ll never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5), I am an ever-present help in the time of trouble” (Psalm 46).
Friends and family may fail you, even our Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, but God never fails us, we fail Him. The flesh wants to be consoled by other flesh, this is why believers tend to seek out every earthly remedy they can for their problems before they go spiritual and seek the help of the only one who can not fail us, Jesus Christ. Just because you can see and touch your earthly counsel does not mean you getting good advice or help.
Let us always remember whose we are and whom we serve during those times of trouble, the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ. God bless you all.
God Never Fails us Prayer for Today
Father, we thank you that we can always depend on you. We thank you that when the enemy comes in like a flood and we seem to have nowhere to turn, we can turn to you, our ever-present help in the time of trouble. Help us Lord not rely on the arm of the flesh, but in you. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
