Being led by the Spirit of God – Prayer for October 23. Praise the Lord everybody! Sometimes as Christians we find ourselves in the “Potters shed” being broken and reformed, and it seems like it will never end. Then we decide to take matters into our own hands.
Bible Verse for Today
“The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. (Jeremiah 18:1-4)
As Christians we need to always remember who the Potter is and that we forever reside in the Potters hands, to do with what He will. When God allows us to go through trial after trial it is because He is making us. God is using these trials to mold us into what He wants us to be.
The problem is it does not always feel good, and we get tired and decide to take matters into our own hands. The Church is full of people who signed themselves out of the Potters house before they were officially discharged by God. They sit around in Church thinking they are done, complete in Christ. They get involved in ministry, they want to teach and preach, sing, and lay on hands. But instead they find their ministry without effect, without power, they are “marred” vessels who left the Potters house too soon.
The flesh does not want to submit to the constant reforming on the Potters’ wheel. Therefore, we must deny our flesh and let being led by the Spirit of God.
We cannot determine when we are complete, only God can. God is looking for those who can endure to the end, those who are willing to humble themselves under the mighty hand of God so that He may exalt them in due time. God Bless you all.
Being Led by the Spirit of God Prayer for Today
Father God, we thank you for the Potters house and wheel. We thank you that you care enough about us to want to make us into the best vessels we can be. Lord, help us to stay on the wheel and not get off it before you are finished with us. We promise to be led by the spirit of God. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
