using your gifts to glorify God

Prayer for May 7. Using your gifts to glorify God. We all know that as Christians, we have been called to do the things of God and take the good news of Christ to people.

Bible Verse for Today

“The LORD came and stood there, calling as the other time, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)

Samuel has been in the house of Eli since he was small. For being in the house of Eli working for the prophet, automatically, he has been called to do the things of God because there is no way you will be under a servant of God and not doing the works of God.

Even though he was in the house of a prophet, God still called him personally. That is the type of calling we should be looking forward to. God calls different for different service in the body of Christ as he allows us to use our gifts (Romans 12:4-6). Before God could call anyone to serve or for special service, he looks into the heart first. You must be ready to work for him. The children of Eli were there but God didn’t call them because he sees their hearts.

At first, Samuel did not know the word of God, so he didn’t get the word of God until he calms to listen.

We all should look into ourselves and note the gift God has given us, it is that gift that makes us unique from every other person. God is then calling us to use our gifts to work for him and anywhere and anytime we find the opportunity to use the gift as onto the Lord, we should do it with all our heart.

Using your Gifts to Glorify God Prayer for Today

Thank you, heavenly Father, for selecting me to work for you. And thank you for all the gifts you gave me. I believe I am a vessel unto honor, you have molded me to be useful for you. I have honored your call Lord, open my eyes to see the gifts in me that I may use for your glory and help me to continue the work you called me to do. After all, let me be worthy of the reward and nothing shall disqualify me. Amen.
