Fullness of joy in the presence of God – Prayer for February 12. What is missing in most people’s life now is a real joy. Many people going about buying things that will bring joy or making friends give them joy but in the end, they don’t get the real Joy.
Bible Verse for Today
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is the fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)
The Bible text is a very popular verse of the Bible, we recite it more often but the way we interpret it to make it look so superficial. This is the presence of God that is being mentioned and what it brings along with itself. The reason we must find our way into the presence of God is that the joy we are looking for, the real joy is in the presence of God.
We may think hanging out with our loved ones can give us the kind of joy we are looking for but after everything, we are left alone with our sadness. God’s presence provokes and unexplainable joy.
The reason we say that it brings an unexplainable joy and the real joy is that it settles all the problems we have in our lives. The reason we are not happy is the challenges we are facing – we want to do some things but get hindered by problems and it breaks us. When we get into the presence of God, we receive a solution and this brings true joy.
God desires to give us joy and happiness, he wants to settle our problem and make them as though they were not. When we have the joy of God, everything becomes easy for us.
Trusting God is what we need to get into his presence and get this joy that we are looking for. When others see us and feel the joy that we have in Christ, they will be moved to trust in God for this joy. Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Dear Lord, I thank you for a wonderful day as this – it is a great day to know that in you there is a true joy that brings no sorrow. I look to you for greater joy and happiness that no man can give. I pray that the joy will be so great that the people around me will feel it and be moved to trust in you and come into your presence. Amen.
