God gives opportunities – Prayer for January 8. According to the popular saying, “opportunity comes not but once.” Let’s tell God to open our eyes to see every opportunity that might come today.
Bible Verse for Today
“I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
In this life, there are so many powerful people who strive to become even more powerful or great, while the less powerful are not gaining power. One thing that life offers more often is an opportunity; if anyone must step ahead of others, he or she must seize any opportunity available to move forward.
The passage in the Bible tells about how the world is and how life is. There are racers in this world; everyone is obviously a racer. To win is not by running so fast; taking this life to be a battleground, not the strong become the winner.
What the Bible is saying is that time and chance happen to all. This means that winning the race or getting what you want depends on the chances you take.
God has opened our doors; he has promised us good things in this life, and this is nothing but an opportunity for us to succeed. Opportunities are not to be wasted; they can change one’s life for the better and forever. Some things we don’t take seriously might be an opportunity to do great things.
One thing about opportunities is that they are always hard to see and don’t look like opportunities. This is why we need to tell God to open our eyes to see the opportunities that may come up throughout the day. If you want to do something great in life, don’t wait until you see something big to start; you can start with the resources you have and grow from there.
Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, I thank you for all you have done in my life. It is a beautiful day today. I believe you have set before me an open door, open my eyes to see and to take advantage of every opportunity that may come my way today. Amen.
