Havenly treasures – Seek first the Kingdom of God – Prayer for February 28. Treasure is what we know it’s valuable to us that we keep very well. Our mind will surely be on the treasure all the time. We must let our treasure be in Christ.
Bible Verse for Today
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
Treasures are highly valued objects or the riches you have accumulated. There are physical treasures and there are spiritual treasures. Physical treasures are what we have gained or accumulated through our businesses or jobs, they are not last. They can cause danger for the owner both spiritual dangers and the physical dangers. The spiritual treasure on the other hand is of eternal value and comes from knowing and serving God. The spiritual treasure are the treasures given by God alone.
It is good to have wealth, that is the physical wealth but we must also be concerned about the spiritual treasures too. What is important is not the wealth but the mindset of the owner. When God himself gives you the spiritual treasure, the physical treasure will start coming in and be sure they will never cause dangers for you. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” The only place you should lay up your treasure is Heaven. That’s the only place there is sure safety for your treasures and your soul. Matthew 6:20 says, “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
Heavenly Treasures – Seek first the Kingdom of God
I thank you Lord for today because I am secured in you. I put all my wealth, my treasure, and all you have given me in you because it is in you there is safety.
Lord, my wealth shall not cause my downfall, my wealth shall not destroy me.
Help me Lord to secure a spiritual treasure which is eternal in you. I know the spiritual treasure brings joy, blessing, success, and even wealth so I say Lord help me to secure a spiritual treasure in you. Let me be useful serving God. Amen.
