KEEP PEACE IN YOUR HEART Prayer for January 9

keep peace in your heart

Keep peace in your heart – Prayer for January 9. There is so much trouble in this world, and people tend to do what will go against the world’s peace, but we must choose the path of peace today.

Bible Verse for Today

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)

The main reason there are problems, war, sickness, poverty, and all kinds of hardship is that there is no peace and no true love among the people. Therefore, if the Lord calls us out of darkness, we must let our light shine and be different in this world.

As a child of God, we’re not expected to fight our neighbors or anyone. We can spread peace if we choose the path of peace.

It is not easy to walk in peace, especially where there is religious pluralism or diversity; it is not easy also to walk in peace with people finding a means of hurting you but taking the path of peace must be achieved. Achieving peace would be easy if we became a child of God. Peace is the fruit of the spirit. If there is anything we should pray for in this generation, it should be getting the fruits of the spirit, which peace is part of.

Jesus told Peter what to do when people offend him in Matthew 12:21. He asked Jesus how many times someone must offend him before he avenges. Jesus answered him in verse 22 “Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

Jesus told Peter that he must choose the path of peace even if anyone provokes him to anger. Jesus gave many parables to make people understand the necessity of choosing peace. One way to establish peace is to let love reign. Love brings peace. Matthew 22:39 “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Keep Peace in your Heart Prayer for Today

Father Lord, I thank you for the privilege to be called your child. I thank you for today. You have told us to love our neighbors and to follow peace with all men. It might be hard to achieve this, but I desire to achieve it and to stand out in this world. Teach me, Lord, to keep peace in my heart and let it be possible. Amen.
