There is only One True God Devotional

Hello, my brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a pleasure to meet you again in the Daily Devotional reading. Today’s significant Bible passage is 1 Corinthians 8:5. It is the one that answers many questions. This scripture puts everything in its place: There are no gods. There is only one true God.

So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” (full text at 1 Corinthians 8:1-6)

There is only One True God

We need to know that “there is the only one God” and “there are no other gods.” So Paul spells God with a capital G. Because God is one and the only one.

Meanwhile, “gods” is spelled with a lowercase “g.” This is because it refers to the various forces of nature, spiritual beings, and demons that people mistakenly call gods.

That is why the Apostle Paul gives an accurate answer once and for all: there is only one God. There are no other gods.

I believe Christians should have no questions about this topic after these words of Paul.

The Trap of False gods

Many people fall into the trap of false teachings and start worshipping artificial idols. Behind a fake idol may be a demon. He takes pleasure and feels victorious when people worship him as God.

There are also people of ill will who claim to be able to control such gods by magic. They promise that the cult of such gods will bring success, money, and fame.

But we know the truth and realize that such things are just manipulation and deception. They lead to destruction. They lead to hell.

Every Christian must be attentive when he hears today’s famous teachings about “energy,” “the Universe,” harmony with cosmic energy, etc. This may be the idol worship referred to in 1 Corinthians.

Worship the true God and serve Him alone

Always, in all circumstances of life, remember Jesus’ words: “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” (Matthew 4:10)

And now say AMEN. And let this position be rock solid.

Prayer for Today

True and the only God, You alone are worthy of my worship and thanksgiving. In Your hands alone do I place my life. You alone give me life; You are the ultimate goal of my life. And You are the only One I love and seek all the days of my life, even unto death. Amen.
