Overcome anger – Prayer for December 4. Almost every day, we face people and situations when we spontaneously want to respond with anger. Angry thoughts and angry feelings hurt our relationships with other people. The only way out is to surrender your anger to God. He will give you grace in your time of need.
Bible Verse for Today
“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19)
If someone makes you angry, the devil tries to make you angry. Responding to such a situation with compassion and forgiveness is the opposite of what the enemy wants. That is how you destroy his plan. This does not happen automatically, and it is not always easy. But if you do what you can, God will do what only He can do.
The moment someone annoys or offends you, the natural reaction is to fight back and pay back the other. The only question is: What’s in it for you? You may make the other even angrier, so he will take his revenge too. And then the circle never stops!
If we cling to our anger, that’s just stupid. We must leave these feelings and the people who triggered them to God. “Mine is revenge; I will repay, says the Lord.” Trust God, and he will take care of you and protect you. You can not change what happened, but if you give it to God, He will use it to do something good in your life.
