Make peace – Prayer for February 24. The peacemakers, according to the Bible, are called the children of God. Since God has made us children and not servants, we are obliged to make peace and be ambassadors of peace to show that we belong to God.
Bible Verse for Today
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)
To make peace with others, one must first possess a genuine love for peace. This quality defines a “peacemaker.” However, true reconciliation is only possible when we are grounded in the peace of God. When His peace dwells within us, extending it to others becomes a natural expression of who we are.
For Christians, pursuing peace is not optional – it is a calling.
Yet, in this pursuit, we must remain impartial and avoid the trap of favoritism. Because peace is the very nature of God, He took the first step to reconcile with humanity by sending Jesus to bridge the gap between us.
This act was rooted in His immense love for us; likewise, if we have love in our hearts, making peace will never feel like a burden.
While we should always strive for harmony, it must never come at the cost of the truth. Sometimes, people resort to “white lies” to temporarily calm a situation, but for a Christian, integrity is paramount. If a “peaceful” resolution requires sacrificing the truth, it is not a path a believer can take.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” Peace should involve truth and not lies. God cannot stand that which is full of lies.
In all we do today, the only thing we should learn to hold onto is peace, and let people see that you are an ambassador of peace.
Prayer for Today
I know that you are a loving God. You made peace with mankind by showing love. Lord, I desire to be a peacemaker because I am your child. I want to show the world that you are a loving Father and that you love peace. Help me today to achieve all these. Amen.
