Shine as Light – Prayer for January 28. The day you have chosen to follow Jesus, is the day you have decided to step out of the crowd. You have stepped out of the darkness and now you must stand out and shine as light.
Bible Verse for Today
“that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15)
Following the multitude means following the path of destruction. What the multitude stands for is the crowd and what is common in the crowd which is outside Jesus is a sin. Jesus has selected us from the dark world to come into his light, he has made us the light of the world.
If you want to let your light shine to the world, then you must be at the top where your light will be seen. You cannot be in the multitude and be shining.
There is no relationship between the children of light and the children of the darkness. The only relationship that may seem to exist is when you are showing them the way through your light. If you don’t stand out, then how can you make an impact in this life?
Those that made an impact in this world are those that chose to go in a direction that is uncommon to man. They chose to create their own path and never to follow the path that is known to man.
If you are going to be extraordinary, then you must do extraordinary things. You must go beyond what others have been doing. The Bible says we must not follow people to do evil.
This means that what the world calls norms, what they call to be something that is not a sin and yet God is against it, we should never be part of them doing it. Psalm 1:1 tells of what will happen to those that stand out and never follow the multitude to do evil. Bible calls such person “blessed”.
Shine as Light Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I thank you for bringing out of darkness into your marvelous light. Lord, I want to stand out and do things differently, I want to create a path that will make a difference in m family, in my community, and in the world. Help me Lord, to stay away from the path of the wicked. I want to follow your way till the end so that I will be called “blessed”. Amen.
