Being transformed by the Word of God – Prayer for July 5. Becoming transformed is not something of the physical alone, but it must feature the inner part of us too. Let’s tell God to transform us within and without.
Bible Verse for Today
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
Verse 1 of the same chapter states how important it is to present ourselves to God as a living sacrifice. As Christians, this won’t be possible for us to achieve if we don’t renew our minds. Things are tempting in this world, things that can make Christians fall.
Even though we are in this world, we shouldn’t be of the world.
That is why we need to reshape ourselves by transformation. This is not what we can achieve by ourselves; it is through the power of God that we can be transformed.

We all wait to be transformed by the Word of God. If we don’t get transformed, it will not be easy for us to test and approve God’s will because there won’t be directions from God – we will find ourselves doing anything, even if it’s not God’s will.
When Jesus was transformed, his cloth, his face, and everything about him changed – transformation is not only changing physically but spiritually. Matthew 13:43 “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.”
When we are transformed, we have full access to the Kingdom of God – we will be changed from being a slave to being called a son and a friend of God. John 15:15 “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

Dear Lord, change my heart, my life, and all that concerns me so I will not conform to the pattern of this world. I am waiting to be transformed by the Word of God. Renew me and create in me a clean heart in Jesus’ name. Amen.
